Astrology

What is Astrology you ask? Well astrology is an art that blends science with metaphysics. Astrology is similar to Numerology. The difference between the two is that Astrology uses planets, houses and the zodiac to find hidden things where as numbers and letters are used for the same purpose in Numerology.

Astrology examines the physical locations of the planets, houses, and zodiac in our solar system relative to each other, prescribing consistent meanings to the relationships.

That different astrological systems have been developed independently by the Vedic, Chinese, Western, and Kabbalistic cultures indicates that there is more to the Universe than nine simple planetary orbits!

What is done with this information is up to the individual. Horoscope columns abound in newspapers, but we all have experienced the inconsistency there. The reason for that is, there is a lot more to you than your Sun sign, ie the sign that you "are" at birth. You may hear someone who has a birthday in mid-April say "hey I'm an Aries" or someone who has a birthday that falls in the last week of July say "hey I'm a Leo".

However there is a lot more to your astrological make up than your Sun sign. Also know you have a Moon sign, which is the sign that basically rules if you will your inner feelings. You also have a rising sign at the time of your birth, and these rising signs change every 2 hours. This is called your Ascendant. So someone could very well have a birthday in early August and have a Sun sign of Leo but appear to be very responsible and good with money, and very serious, unlike a Leo. But those characteristics fit a Capricorn. Therefore its very possible that te individual may have had Capricorn rising at birth.

The way to determine this is looking at your own personal chart. Your own personal astrological chart is a visual way of mapping the positions of the elements of our Solar System as they were at a particular moment in time, centered around a particular location. For example, a chart of your birth, called a Natal Horoscope or Birth Chart, shows the exact locations of the Sun, Moon, and the planets at the moment you were born, relative to the city you were born in.

Astrological charts also contain houses, a sort of "stage" upon which your life plays out. Houses identify key areas of your personality- your outlook, possessions, family, attitude, health, relationships, career, spirituality, and friends (to name a few).

The combination of all these factors creates a unique picture of your own personality. You can use the descriptions at this site to analyze your personality and how you came to be who you are. The Planetary Aspects

Aspects are the angles that planets make to each other. For instance, two planets 120 degrees apart are said to be “trine” to each other. The period over which an aspect is valid is called its “orb” - so if you allow an 8 degree orb for trines, any two planets between 112 and 128 degrees apart are trine.

Conjunction- 0 degrees- The energies of the two planets work together – if the planets are incompatible, they will clash.

Sextile- 60 degrees- The energies of the two planets flow well with a little bit of effort to make it happen.

Square- 90 degrees- The energies of the two planets clash – this is particularly challenging if they’re incompatible in the first place. This aspect represents obstacles.

Trine- 120- The energies of the two planets flow harmoniously; even if the planets are incompatible it brings out the best. This aspect is comfortable, sometimes lazy.

Opposition- 180- The energies of the two planets either oppose each other creating conflict, or can complement each other.

T-Square- Two planets in opposition, and another planet squaring both. The “apex” planet represents the problem area that triggers the conflict between the opposing planets.

Grand Cross- Four planets all square to each other. Very challenging as difficult to get any sort of balance between all four planets.

Grand Trine- Three planets all in trine to each other. Very easy flow of energies, and often an area you are very comfortable with, and may not even notice as it’s so easy.
