| Similarities |
| As I continue my studies in the ways of Gor and Wicca in more depth, I find myself thinking of all the similarities, which one has in common with the other. It has come to my attention that most of the same major focuses are attended by both, though maybe worded differently, they both boil down to the same thing. I have found a lot about these two subjects, and with permission, I will share just a few with you. These include: In Wicca, the place where others from the same tradition dwell or meet up are called *Covens*, these are places, which they consider a family-knit place of residence (meeting place). Where as in Gor, a similar place is called a *Homestone*. Rituals and ceremonies are a major part in Wicca and Gor. In Wicca they are used to highlight and worship the Goddess and God, in celebration of many Sabbats and Esbats in the turning of the *Wheel of the Year*. There also ceremonies such as handfasting (a sort of marriage), which is a similar form of Free Companionship in Gor. In Gor, there are also many holidays throughout their year, again celebrating many of their beliefs and history. The Goreans hold many festivities (Rituals), in which a banquette is held with slaves/kajirae dancing and making entertainment for the Free (Men and Free Women) Ceremonies are held also as a celebration to the Goddess and God in the Wicca lifestyle. In Gor, these can be held for a number of reasons, albeit a collaring (Ko'laring) of a new slave, to a capture, or branding. In Wicca, they use their own language source where known to few outside the tradition. Also in Gor, they use their own language, known only to themselves (there is a Gor dictionary link on the Gor links page). In Wicca, things are asked for by the individual, as in Gor, the slave/kajira asks/begs her/his Owner(s), for a better understanding and knowledge, to live and serve to the best of their ability, again to be pleasing. This shows the dedication and love in both lifestyles. |
