NEPA document preparation: Writing environmental impact statements (EIS), environmental assessments (EA), categorical exclusions, and biological assessments and evaluations, including programmatic and tiered documents. Responsible for alternatives comparison, cumulative impact analysis, quality control, project management, schedule, and project team coordination. Principal clients include numerous engineering and construction firms, utilities, municipalities, county and state DOTs, and the FHWA. Coordination with Technical Specialists & the Design Team: Working with wide range of technical specialists to ensure appropriate consideration of hazardous waste, transportation safety, biological resources, visual resources, recreational resources, hydrology, utilities, air quality, noise, geology, and soils in the preparation of environmental clearances. Plan review, review of special contract requirements, developing project Purpose and Need, and formulating mitigation measures. Biological Survey: Reptilian, mammalian, avian, and botanical field survey, identification of threatened and endangered species, and identification of potential riparian areas and wetlands. Field identification of biotic communities. Developing plant lists and mapping protected native plants. Hazardous Waste Assessment: UST/LUST record review. Preliminary hazardous materials site assessment. |
