The Organization sponsors a basketball league for girls attending grade schools in Manitowoc County Wisconsin. The object of the organization is to promote and encourage good sportsmanship and competitive athletics through organized play. |

The Playoff Championship games for both the Little Hoopers and 7th & 8th grade divisions were both well-played, close and exciting classic contests to close out the year on Championship Sunday at Roncalli High School. The Pirates from St. Gregory came back from a 6-3 first quarter deficit to take a 12-8 lead at the half over the Bulldogs from Cabrini White. They expanded the lead to 16-9 after three quarters and then held on as Cabrini White mounted a furious fourth quarter rally outscoring the Pirates 10-6. St. Gregory held on for a taught 22-19 victory in front of a huge crowd and photographers from the Herald-Times. Catch the huge photo spread online at htrnews.com. St. Gregory was led in scoring by Jamie Hoban with 11 and Nicole Schoenberger stepped up huge with 5 fourth quarter points. Cabrini White was paced by Hailey Szalewski's 8 points and 7 points by Savannah Meyer. The 7th & 8th Championship game was even more exciting as Cabrini Grey, paced by the hot shooting of Kaley McDonnell, Alex Mihalakakos and Emily Halvorsen jumped to a 23-16 lead . They expanded the lead to 34-22 after 3 quarters. When Katy Orth hit a 3-pointer, Cabrini Blue began a blisting 4th quarter rally, going on a 14-0 run to take a 1 point lead. Cassie Bonin's free throw tied the game at 36 and the title contest went into an extra session. Cabrini Blue jumped to an early two point lead and when Cabrini Grey's 4th player of the game fouled out, they were left with only four players to finish the game with and Cabrii Blue took the title with a thrilling 44-40 win. What a credit to both teams for this exciting, well-played contest Bryanna Fuller led Cabrini Blue with 16 points, followed by Katy Orth with 10 while Emily Jagemann and Lindsay Brennan added 8 each. Cabrini Grey was paced by Kaley McDonnell and Alex Mihalakakos with 14 points each and Emily Halverson chipped in with 8. |
