            Commercial Calcium Carbide, commonly called "carbide," is a gray to reddish brown crystalline material. It finds varied applications in the form of the gas acetylene, produced when carbide reacts with water.

Acetylene Black is a very light, fluffy, black powder with high absorptivity and good electrical and thermal conductivity.
