McTank ExRT’s
are made of high strength Kevlar fabric and marine grade vinyl ester resin for uninterrupted
service and high durability. Each tank is hand made to exacting quality and
engineering standards. I have over 40+ years experience in fiberglass fabrication
and development.
Current tank designs
offer the traditional round bottom configuration and the euro style with flatter
sides and bottom. The widths of all tanks are greater than OEM tanks and range
from about 18 inches for a 5 gal. tank, to almost 20 inches for the 7+ gal.
tank. Tank depth, at the sides will be from 2 to 4 inches lower than stock tanks,
(horn relocation required).
The 'stretched euro' tanks are available to fit several seat configurations.
Currently I have models for the stock seat, the Corbin Gunfighter and the Mustang
Regal seats. Each model has two versions, a slightly convex curve sided model that
carries upwards of seven+ gallons and what I refer to as the 'super-slim' euro
stretch with a tapered side and a meager 6+ gal. capacity, I can supply 'top fitting shells'
for the cost of two way shipping ($20 - $30). The fitting shells will give you a 'eyes on" feel
for the tank
All tanks can be
installed with minimal changes in the stock configuration. Due to the change
in the tank exterior, two fuel petcocks are required, one for each side, tanks
are supplied with ¼” npt female fittings. The fuel petcocks on
the non-stretched tanks are positioned about mid-tank (lowest point) which requires
approx. 6” of additional fuel line for each side. The stretched models
have the petcocks positioned at the bottom of the 'tails' and the stock fuel
lines are adequate. The only other requirement is the relocation of the horn (1400).
The basic and the 'stretched' ERT’s are compatible with stock and aftermarket
seats, although there may be a conflict with the sheetmetal 'neck covers'.
The all Kevlar construction body is currently made for a recessed cap. All tanks
are built to accept the 2 1/2 inch 'aircraft style' flush bolt on gas cap kits, I
can supply a locking chrome plated cap kit for cost ($75) or I can install cap
kits supplied by you at no additional cost (kit required before fabrication).
