Occurrence

Currently on the R1b SNP table there are 2 S48+ derived individuals. However, it is also derived R1a and Q and ancestral in L, I1a and E3b. Thus it would appear that S48 is at present a poorly defined SNP defining an upper level node in the Y chromosome haplogroup tree.
