2001 UNITY SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

    On Wednesday, October 24, 2001, the minority bar associations of Sacramento (Unity Coalition) will sponsor its annual scholarship dinner, "Unity 2001." to honor the achievements of outstanding members of the legal community. Also, as part of the event, the "Unity Scholarship" will be awarded to a law student(s) or recent law school graduate(s) (class of 2000), who is (are) a member of any ethnic minority law student association at the following law schools: (1) King Hall School of Law (U.C. Davis); (2) Lincoln Law School; (3) Lorenzo Patino School of Law (Univ. of Northern California); or (4) McGeorge School of Law (Univ. of the Pacific).

   The scholarship is designed to recognize the applicant's community involvement prior to and during law school; the applicant's leadership roles and qualities exhibited in past or current achievements; and the applicant's future commitment to the community. If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, please complete the following application process by submitting:

    1.  A cover letter indicating your current address and phone number, current student status (1L, 2L, etc.) and the law school you
         are attending or recently graduated from;

    2.  A Personal Statement (not to exceed two pages double spaced) outlining your community involvement prior to and during law
         school, leadership roles and qualities, and future commitment to the community;

    3.  Current resume and law school transcript (if available); and

    4. Optional: Any financial information you would like the Scholarship Committee to consider.

    5.  Send your application materials, postmarked not later than October 12, 2001, to:
