Pictures: Sprachwochenende Fall 2004
Sprachwochenende is all about getting out of Montreal and seeing something other than McGill campus and the inside of that Second Cup on Parc. So we went hiking.
The Gault Estate where we stayed is owned by McGill. It includes this really pretty lake, which is apparently a drinking water reservoir.
François and Ines are visiting McGill from Europe. Both were very impressed with the red maple leaves everywhere.
The view from the top of the mountain (a 1.5 hour hike up there) was really spectacular. The crappy looking day and the cheap camera keep us from getting a good appreciation for things, but you could make out Montreal's skyline quite clearly (including the HUGE stadium) in person.
These are some of the friendly folks from Bishop's University who came along with us.
Paula Garcia, German grad student, teamed up with Anita (not pictured) to give all interested parties salsa lessons. We reasoned that it was appropriate because so many German expats live in South America. Also, it was fun.
