Sprachwochenende
Pictures of the March trip are posted here!
Sprachwochenende is the German Department's once-a-term weekend retreat. All students studying at the intermediate level up through fluent and native speakers are welcome to join in. The lucky participants spend a few days in the Quebec countryside speaking "exclusively" German and getting to know some nice people. The cooking, cleaning, etc, is done communally and the cuisine is always vegan-friendly (without neglecting the omnivores, either). Activities include hiking (in Fall), snowshoeing, and/or iceskating (in Winter). Past Sprachwochenenden have been held in Mont-Saint-Hilaire and North Hatley with students from Concordia and Bishop's attending as well. Details about coming trips will be posted here and in the German Department, and pictures from the most recent retreat can be found here.
A huge thanks to Professor Schmidt for organizing the his annual Sprachwochenende in Mont St. Hilaire last weekend, and also to all those who helped. I think we all had a great time. Photos are being posted at a private e-mail address: gsa.bilder@gmail.com (password: stammtisch). Feel free to check it out and share your own photos. GSA-related only, please.
We hope to organize a second Sprachwochenende during the Winter semester. Information will follow.
