Windsor Castle Archives

Contact Information

I have to give thanks to Leslie Anne Hendra for pointing me in this direction. The Windsor Castle Archives have a fair amount of material on both McHardys and Bowmans and they make it all available at very reasonable prices. This is a great source to contact if you know of ancestors who might have worked at Balmoral Castle or at any of the Royal residences.

For a summary of the materials the a
rchives have on the Bowmans, see the
Windsor Castle Archives: Bowman References page.
A. General search of the archives, copies of their written materials.
This is a good place to start. Ask for a general account of what they have on record for the surnames in which you are interested.
