On Sunday, March 11, 1984, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life. He joined the Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church in Washington, D.C. There he served sixteen years under the leadership of Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr.

In 1985, Elder Franklin received a calling to the preaching ministry. He received ministerial training from Zion Bible Institute in Barrington, Rhode Island. Pastor Franklin is an ordained minister of the Mount Calvary Holy Churches of America, Inc. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida. He earned a Master's of Divinity from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

While at Greater Mt. Calvary in Washington, D.C., he served in various areas such as Youth Pastor, Bible Instructor of Calvary Bible Institute and both substance and alcohol abuse counselor.

First Lady Twanda Franklin has a degree in Cosmetology and is a sucessful beautician. She serves as the Director of the Daughters of Impact, a woman's ministry mentoring and training young ladies, striving toward perfection of the total woman; mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Pastor and Lady Franklin have a beautiful marriage of fourteen years (as of 10/02) and they are the loving parents of one son, Joel Samuel Franklin.
