Boots was created for Tom Ensminger at the Carpet Bagger Pages

Boots was a B-24 in the 490th BG that was assigned to the 801st Bomb Group. The 801st was an OSS outfit under the command of "Wild Bill" Donavan and flew top secret covert missions dropping OSS operatives behind enemy lines as well as supplies to resistance fighters throughout Europe. This is a photo of the crew that flew Boots to England. They were assigned another B-24 for their first mission on July 4th 1944.
Sometime between July 4th and 5th they were shot down over France by a German night fighter. All on board were KIA.
