CHILDREN Chaos reigns all around me Noise and toys and mess and more Tempers frayed and tears flowing Children shouting, emotions raw. Defiant streaks and bad behaviour Bedroom contents strewn about Broken toys and felt pens running They wonder why I scream and shout. Like broken records children moaning Wanting more than I can give They never stop and never listen What kind of life is this I live? A life I'd never choose to give up Even though I'll never be A perfect mother to my children But I love them and they love me! Michelle 28.07.04 |
FOLLOW-THEM-ROUND-CLEAN-UP-MACHINE Why are children so destructive? Throw things, break things, whilst they play Can't see the dangers right before them They blunder on throughout the day. They make a mess can't see the problem Or the time it takes to clean Is my role in life their mother? Or a follow-them-round-clean-up-machine? I love them dearly, wouldn't swap them Like to have them here with me If only they could understand more Their behaviour soon, much better would be! Michelle 28.07.04 |
MY TWO KIDS Noses poking, causing trouble Children touching things not theirs Interfering, creating mischief Arguing and splitting hairs. Letting wind and making noises Breaking things and saying no Flooding floors and doors are slamming Playing up when it's time to go. Spilling food and drink a plenty Crying loud when deed is done I thought real trouble was my daughter Then I went and had a son! Michelle 29.07.04 |
