5. Ratification of IMCAA Constitution and By-Laws. On December 30, 2005, the Constitution and By-Laws was adopted and ratified by a majority vote of the registered bona fide members. The agreed alumni homecoming was April - any Saturday or Sunday immediately following graduation, except if it falls on Black Saturday and Easter Sunday - to welcome the new batch of alumni. 6. Highlights of the Second Annual Alumni Homecoming on December 29-30, 2005: a. Medical - Dental - Minor Surgical - Legal Outreach b. Awarding of Most Outstanding Alumni (from Batches '61 - '70) c. Awarding of Service Awards to Marian College Faculty and Adminis- tration who have served more than 20 years in Marian College. d. Production of the first souvenir program of IMCAA, limited edition, costs P150/copy. Contents of which are as follows: Messages from different dignitaries; Historical Background of Marian College; List of Officers, Service Awardees, Most Outstanding Alumni and their resume; SEC Registration; Constitution and By-Laws; List of adver- tisers, sponsors and donors; List of all Alumni by batch. Added features were the profile or brief success stories of some of the Marian College Valedictorians and Salutatorians (first 25 years of Marian College), not all were able to give their profile/stories in spite our information, the rest are just nowhere to be found. Please be informed that we were your officers since 2004 yet. The ratified constitution of December 2005 states that there would be an election every two years, that's supposed to be December this year (2007). The agreed annual alumni homecoming in the constitution was April but none was celebrated this year because of the national election last May. Hopefully next year, April 2008 (or better still on December 2008 in time for the culmination of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Marian College), another grand alumni homecoming with election of officers and awarding of the Most Outstanding Alumni would occur. It would be a great favor for us if you could identify and nominate an alumni whom you think deserves to be called "outstanding"; it may either be YOU yourself or others, specifically from batches 1961 to 1983 first. This website was also created in 2005 yet, was closed due to non-use and just revived now, hopefully for good. For now, this is free but features are limited, thus I'm asking for any good helpful alumni who could possibly sponsor this website? As more and more alumni would check-in as a way of attendance and for us to put more features, Geocities will require us to pay monthly or yearly subscription. Any taker please? We are also sponsoring for the first time one high school scholar, take note, only one. That's because the alumni association has still meager finances, as membership fees are so slow in coming. Thus, I'm challenging all batches if you could sponsor a scholar, just one per batch, that's the greatest gift you could offer to our Alma Mater. As the words of the first ever invitation for the first annual alumni homecoming as signed by the then Bishop Antonio Ledesma, SJ, DD, stated: " We are also aware that a number of Marian Alumni are more blessed, and are willing to share their blessings to their Alma Mater and to those less fortunate. The administrators of Marian are asking your kindness for your Alma Mater's Student Scholarship, faculty and facility development". Thank you for signing-in and for all your messages in our website. We welcome any suggestions you could share. Hope to see you in one of our future homecoming. God Bless Us All. |
