Historical Highlights on its 50th Year
   The challenge and need for a higher school of leaning in Ipil, with the desire of the people, promted the Very Reverend Fr. Efecio I. Dolalas, SJ to found the Ipil Marian Academy which later became Marian College.. With proper guidance, the people sent a petition to the higher dignitaries of the Society of Jesus. After favorably acting upon the said petition, Fr. Dolalas it to Honorabale Minister of Education and Culture. After meeting all the requirements, Marian College was granted the authorization to open during the school year 1958-1959
   The school started with 100 students in the first and second years of high school with only four pioneering teachers and Fr. Dolalas became the Director. The third year class was opened the following year increasing the enrolment to 150 students and increasing the employment of the teachers as well. Enrollment rose to over 200 with the opening of the fourth year class in 1960-1961. During the first commencement exercises, 16 high school students marched to receive their diplomas. The following year, more classroom were constructed to accomodate the 203 students enrolled.

    Before the first day of 1962, due to the clamor of the people of Ipil and the neigboring municipalities for a tertiary education, the Reverent Father Director sent another petition to the Honorable Minister of Education and Culture to open collegiate courses. After complying with all the requirements, first and second years of the Liberal Arts courses were offered enticing about 80 enrollees from different towns. The high school population had increades tremendously to more than 400 students. The progressive type of a building became larger.

    The following school year, 1963-1964, new courses were added in the collegiate level, Education, Commerce and Collegiate Secretarial Science. Bigger figure were seen with 488 high school and 150 college enrolles. From this number, 52 high school and 28 college students graduated.
