represent friendship. One of the most important qualities of a good leader is for them to be
a good friend. as the poet wrote: (read from a seperate printed piece of paper)

Portriat of a Friend

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems , doubts, or fears.
But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.
I can't change your past with all it's heartache aches and pain, nor the future with it's untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.
I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.
Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happinesses are not mine;
yet I can share in your laughter.
Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge; I can
only support you , encourage you, and help you when you ask.
I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from
your values, from me. I can only pray for you, talk to you and
wait for you.
I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
but I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to
be yourself.
I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting, but I can cry
with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in
place.
I can't tell you whou you are.
I can only love you and be your friend

(hands worthy advisor elect the paper with the poem on it).

Brother Marshal, you will please escort Miss (say name) to the west.
(mar escorts her to the west)

SC: From the west I present you with this heart necklace, a symbol of love. (puts it on
her) Whenever you wear this necklace think of the love that is present in the Masonic
family. A love which extends to all branches of the Masonic family, from Rainbow to
DeMolay, from the Shriners to the Order of The Eastern star, and everywhere inbetween.
This necklace is to remind you that you have family everywhere you go, that as long as
you wear it you are never truely alone. Brother Marshal, you will please escort (say name)
to the altar for her final gift.

(mar escorts her to the alter and takes one step back)

MC leaves the east and goes to the altar.

MC: (say name), now that you have been given the symbols of friendship and love, it is
my duty to give you one final gift.... A symbol of your office, the highest position in your
Rainbow chapter. But before I present you with the your final gift, let me explain to you
what it means to be a leader. To be a leader is to be a shining example to all those who
follow you. Your members will look up to you, so it is your duty to be an example of
every thing rainbow teaches, Love Religion, Nature, Immortality, Fidelity, Patroitism, and
Service. It is not a job to be taken lightly. Your friends have shown by voting you into
office that they believe that you are the best person to lead them, to affect the next six
months of their lives. Now let me present you with your final gift, the symbol of your
office, the crown of the Rainbow. You will please kneel. I now crown you, (say name)
the ____ worthy advisor of _____ lodge. You will arise. When you wear this, wear it
with pride and glorify everything it is to be a part of the Masonic family. *MC returns to
the east*
Brother Marshal you will now please escort (say name) to the east. Brother crowing
