Rick’s Restaurant Review
By Rick Patton
Castle Rock Bar &
Grille
3743 N US Hwy 93
Golden Valley, AZ 86413
Today
it was Tom and Lily, Jim and Edie and me. We decided on a short ride out to the
Castle Rock Bar & Grille on Highway 93. The ride out there was quite
uneventful as I allowed the Hondas to keep up with my Harley this time J.
There
is ample parking out front and the windows are situated so you can keep an eye
on your bike, that is if you’re not watching the game on one of the many big
screen/HD TV’s arrayed around the dining area. The bar is in the middle and
there is a pool table on the far end.
Our
iced tea and Jim’s diet Pepsi came pretty quickly and we ordered. Edie had a
calzone, Lily had a bowl of spaghetti, Jim had something that came in a basket
and Tom and I tried something called strombolis. The food took a little longer
to arrive than I’m used to, but it was worth it. The calzone and strombolis
were sizable as was the spaghetti. In fact everybody but me needed a doggy bag.
We even had marinara dippin’ sauce. Mine was so delicious that I ate it all and
won’t have to eat again until Spring. Well, maybe a
little at the meeting on Tuesday.
Service
was good and out waitress was friendly while she made sure we were in need of
nothing. We had good conversation as we ate, drank and watched the ball game.
I’ll recommend this place the next time we’re in the mood for a short ride and a big lunch. I’m revving this one up to 9 grand on the
old Route 66 Riders’ tach. As always redline is 10.
