RICK'S RESTAURANT REVIEW

                                   EL RANCHO

                   MEXICAN AND AMERICAN RESTAURANT

                             4248 Highway 68

                             Golden Valley, AZ

El Rancho Mexican and American Restaurant is a new place in Golden Valley across the highway from Stockmen's Bank.

The first thing a biker will notice is that the parking lot, windows and seats are situated so that you can sit anywhere and still keep an eye on your bike. If you're not watching the game on their TV that is. They're open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch are pretty much American food and the dinner menu is Mexican food. Lunch ranges from $3.50 to $5.50 and the chips and salsa is $.50 extra.

The salsa was good, it had more of a bite than what you usually get in a Mexican restaurant and the chips were dusted with salt and what looked like chili powder. I had the Mexicana Burger. It's basically a 1/2 lb cheeseburger with everything on it including guacamole and sliced jalapenos. It was quite tasty and came with either fries or coleslaw.

Service was great. The food arrived in less than five minutes.

The only negative thing I have to say about this place is THEY DON'T HAVE CHILI SIZE!! Nevertheless, I'll recommend El Rancho as a destination when nobody feels like a long ride and I'll rev this one up to 4 grand on the old Route 66 Riders tach.
