                      LUPITA'S MEXICAN RESTUARANT

                           Clinton, Oklahoma

I knew I should have taken the bike to Chattanooga. The truck broke down in Clinton, Oklahoma and I was stuck until it got fixed. I noticed Lupita's Mexican Restaurant next to my motel and decided to give it a try. It's a little place and kinda dark with ceiling fans and green and purple neon running around the tops of the walls. Fancy sombreros and serapes adorn the walls and the tables are well spaced.

Service was great. I ordered the enchilada dinner and it appeared before I knew it. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were pretty reasonable. Dinner combos range from $7.00-9.00 and come with rice and beans. Lunch is available as well and runs about the same.

The food was delicious. Even the salsa served with the chips was home made and tasty. The cheese sauce in particular was good. The enchiladas were well prepared and the sauce had a unique flavor.

All in all Lupita's provided a bright spot in an otherwise dreary day. If you're ever passing through Clinton, OK, it's just off exit 65-A. I highly recommend it and I'll rev it up to four grand on the old Route 66 Riders Tach.
