RICK'S RESTAURANT REVIEW

                    RESTAURANTE MEXICO

                      2690 N. Kiowa

                   Lake Havasu City, AZ

On Sunday, October 12, 2003 we decided to take in some authentic Mexican cuisine at Restaurante Mexico in Lake Havasu. It was a sixty mile ride but well worth it. The overall first impression of the place is that it's one of those small, off-the-beaten-path, hole in the wall eateries that one is extremely lucky to find.

The interior decor is mostly beer (cerveza) company posters. There are booths and tables available. We needed to put five tables together to seat all ten of us. That was OK. We just moved two customers to another table and set ourselves up. We hadn't been seated for more than a few minutes before the waitress showed up with chips, two kinds of salsa and bean dip. She then took our drink orders. We ordered everything from a beef burrito to chili rellano to the Super Beef Burrito that Nancy thought she could finish off.

About ten minutes later our food arrived and Nancy immediately asked for a doggy bag. This thing was a monster - about the size of a large dinosaur egg. And it only cost $6.50. Most of the items on the menu ranged from five to seven dollars. The food was delicious and we were all wondering if our suspensions would be up to the task of carrying our added bulk back to Kingman. The service, incidentally, was good as well.

This is a great place to eat and I'll rev it up to 41/2 grand on the old Route 66 Riders tach.
