Rick’s Restaurant Review

Redneck’s Southern Pit BBQ

420 E. Beale Street

Kingman, AZ 86401

Ya’ know those guys who show up at the County Fair and places like that and sell barbeque sandwiches? Well they’ve opened their own restaurant right here in town. I tried them for lunch today on a not-so-anonymous tip from John Miller. The first thing I noticed was the parking lot was full. Fortunately a car was just pulling out so I got that spot.

Upon entering, I was impressed with the spaciousness and clean look about the place. You order cafeteria style and after paying you go sit at one of the many picnic tables or booths that are available. Redneck oriented decorations adorn the walls. NASCAR is well represented there is also a deer head, nondescript animal skin and that mounted singing bass. Jeff Foxworthy and the Blue Collar guys would love this place.

The fare is simple but tasty. Sandwiches come in beef brisket or pulled pork. A large sandwich is $5.49 and the small one is $4.49. This comes with a bag of chips. A side dish of coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, beans, mac & cheese or corn on the cob is $1.49 extra. A 24 oz. soft drink will run you $1.59. If ribs are your desire, a rack will cost you $17.89 and a half rack is $12.49. A half a chicken goes for $9.89.

I had the large beef brisket sandwich, coleslaw and a coke and I got out of there for about $10.00. It was delicious and filling. Service was good but they don’t have a senior discount. That’s alright though, I’ll recommend Redneck’s for a good lunch and rev this one up to 9 grand on the old Route 66 Riders tach. As always redline is 10.
