TWO GALS
After the Flags Across the Dam Ride
last Memorial Day there was some discussion as to where to have lunch. Rich
suggested Two Gals, a local restaurant and not wanting to go all the way to
Applebee's in Vegas, some of us went there. This time we chose right. Two Gals
is a bright, modern, friendly place with greenish walls with antiques on them.
While waiting for your order it's a gas to try to guess what some of them were
for. The old corn shucker had everybody stumped until
we looked closely and saw the ear of corn in it.
Since this was a holiday and there was a special event in
town, the
place was pretty crowded and they
seemed to be somewhat understaffed.
Nevertheless our waitress maintained a friendly and helpful
demeanor.
Prices are reasonable $4-6 dollars for sandwiches that come
with potato
salad (they don't have fries). the Reuben Sandwich was excellent (no
chili size either). Portions are
pretty good sized as well. I caught
a glimpse of Roger's
"taco" and wondered if I could eat it all. You'll
definitely get your money's worth
here. I'll rev Two Gals up to 4 1/2
grand on the old Route 66 Riders tach. I'll also recommend this place
if we feel like a long ride on a
Sunday afternoon.
