Rick’s Restaurant Review

Yo-Yo’s Tacos
4310 Hwy 95
Fort Mohave, AZ
You’ve got to be
looking for it to see it. Yo-Yo’s Tacos is in a strip mall about a mile and a
half south of the college in Fort Mohave. At least that’s what the phone book
says. Unfortunately they’re closed on Sunday so that lets out the Sunday ride.
But on any other day you’re in the Bullhead area and the burrito urge hits you,
Yo-Yo’s is a good bet.
It’s somewhat dark
inside and the bar is on the right (south) side. The restaurant, however, is
the subject here. It’s pretty much seat yourself, but the waitress will help
you find a table. The fare is burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas, and of
course tacos. Prices range from $4.00 to $8.00 for lunch and the service is
quick. One interesting feature is the salsa stand by the front door. The
waitress puts the chips on the table and you then get your own salsa. They have
5 levels of hotness; mild, medium mild, medium, medium hot and hot. I like them
all, but stick to the mild side to avoid gastric distress. But then that’s my
problem. The food is excellent. Their chicken combo burrito is about $4.95 and
will fill up most normal people. For those with big appetites, I’d recommend
the larger $6.95 version. It’s got melted cheese and sauce on top and will
satisfy the most raging hunger. If chicken isn’t what you want, beef, pork,
chili verde and carne asada are available.
If you’re hungry
for Mexican food and you’re in the Bullhead/Fort Mohave area, I’d heartily
recommend Yo-Yo’s Tacos. In fact, I’ll rev this one up to 4 ½ grand on the old
Route 66 Riders’ tach. As always redline is 5 grand.
