Princess Diana

On July 29, 1981 Diana Spencer's childhood dream of becoming a princess came true. Diana married Charles, Prince of Wales who will someday become King of England. Diana had to live her whole life as royalty and be her very best and look good and do good all the time because she was a princess. Diana became a very interesting and modern women that fascinated people all over the world. Diana Frances Spencer was born on July 1, 1961 in Great Britain. Diana had two older sisters. Her family lived in a "storybook" kind of home called Park House. It was huge and had gardens and a pool and a staff to take care of everything. Diana was a lovable child, but was stubborn. She wanted to have things her way.  Diana's parents divorced when she was six years old. She was raised by her dad and attended boarding schools and was taught how to be a good citizen. In 1975 Diana's grandfather died and her father became the eighth Earl Spencer which gave titles to Diana and her sisters. She was called Lady Diana. Her father moved them to a new estate house called Althorp in Northamtonshire. When Diana was 19 years old she began dating Charles, the Prince of Wales. They were friends when they were younger and on Februry 24, 1981, Lady Diana and Prince Charles were engaged to be married. Charles and Diana made a 3-day, 400 mile royal tour of Wales and people loved Diana. On July 29, 1981,  Diana and Prince Charles were maried at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. The wedding was like a Cinderella story. The couple even rode in a glass coach pulled by hores. The royal wedding was on television and over 700 million people watched from all over the world. People lined the streets and crowds followed Charles and Diana when they went to Buckingham Palace. Charles and Diana received more then 10,000 wedding presents from around the world. On June 21, 1982, Diana gave birth to a baby boy. He was named William Arthur Philip Louis and would be called Prince William. Diana and Charles took part in raising their son even though in royalty they were supposed to have nannies to raise him. The nannies helped Diana and gave advice . Diana became depressed and tired a lot after William's birth. The marrige was having a problems, then Diana had another son in 1984. His name was Prince Harry. Charles was very upset because he wanted a girl. Between 1984 and 1986 Diana became a supperstar. People all over the world watched Diana and loved her. She was always on a magazine covers and dress makers copied clothes she wore. Everyone wated to look like Diana. Diana became a close friend with Sara Ferguson after Sara married Prince Andrew in 1986. Sara and Diana shared a lot of the same problems people of royatly had. The press was always wanting to know if Diana and Charles were having a good marrige. They always did stories of places Diana went and were  Charles went and they were apart a lot. Diana always made people that were sick feel better when she came to vist or talk to them. She was president of over 29 charities. Charles and Diana lived their lives with so much stress and so much pressure from the media that it was hard to be a happy couple. In December 1992, The announcement was made that Charles and Diana were separated. The fairytale had ended. On August 31, 1997 , Princss Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris, France. She was taken back to the family estate at Althorp where she grow up as a child and buried on an  island in the center of a lake. Diana  became famous when she married Prince Charles of Wales, but she was loved by  so many people. She deserves to be remembered by being a royal lady with compassion and commitment to people everywhere.
