This rifle is a Spencer Reapeater.  It was used by troops during the Civil War.

My story is about weapons used during the Civil War in North Carolina. The top gun is a breech loading rifle called "The Spencer Reapeater". It was the most advanced infantry weapon used in the Civil War. It had a chamber in the bottom to carry ammo and cleaning utensils. It was the most dependable rifle on the battlefield. The pistol on the right is a .32 caliber rimfire 6-shot Smith & Wesson Model 2. It shoots a metalic cartridge. It was used by soldiers just in case they could not draw their rifle fast enough. The gun was owned by many sharpshooters of the Civil War. The guns were both used by the Confederate soldiers.
