Accelerated Reader Points System

The book reports for the third and fourth grading periods will be a matter of scoring points for Accelerated Reader tests. The guidelines are as follows:

20 points by March 31st (end of fifth grading period) = 100 for two test grades
  19 points = 95
  18 points = 90
  17 points = 85
  16 points = 80
  15 points = 75
  14 points = 70
  13 points = 65
  12 points = 60
  11 points = 55
  10 points = 50
  9 points = 45
  8 points = 40
  7 points = 35
  6 points = 30
  5 points = 25
  4 points = 20
  3 points = 15
  2 points = 10
  1 point = 5
  0 = 0

Easy enough to follow? Good, because the same system applies to the sixth grading period.

Any points that you accumulate over 20 during the third grading period may be roll over to the fourth grading period. However, if you want to use them as extra credit to apply to the third grading period, you must have at least 5 extra points (over 20), and you must let me know.

Points that are used as extra credit may not be used as rollover points for the fourth grading period.

Any novels we read as a class may not be used toward your 20 points per grading period.
