| MOMS Club® was started in the fall of 1983 by our founder Mary B. James, when she, as a Stay-At-Home-Mom in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other SAHM's and she wanted to find other SAHChildren for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for SAHM's. MOMS Club was born. The first local chapter was MOMS Club of Simi Valley, CA. Word spread about the wonderful support that MOMS Club offered Stay-At-Home-Moms and we became a National organization in 1985 - and an International organization in 1996. |

| In July 2002 the MOMS Club of St. Louis City, MO was started. We thank our founding President, Marji O. for this. In the spring of 2002 another local MOMS Club found that there were several members in the St. Louis City area inquiring about joining their chapter. Their president approached Marji and asked her to sister a new chapter in the city. Looking at this as an opportunity for all moms in the St. Louis area, Marji is quoted as stating, "I am hoping to connect to mothers with others to build support networks for Stay-At-Home-Mothers and especially First-Time-Moms". Marji enlisted six of her close friends in the adventure and the rest is "Our Story". Within one year our chapter grew to over 50 members! From those numbers it looks like our founding president was right - St. Louis City needed a MOMS Club. We have since sistered another chapter just outside of the city area. |
