WHAT ARE THESE NATIONAL TESTS?

The tests consist of 40 multiple-choice questions worth one mark each - similar to those used in the driving test. The literacy test lasts one hour and the numeracy test one and a quarter hours. The tests are currently paper-based.

What level are the tests?

Adult Literacy       Key Skills          GCSE             GNVQ              NVQ and Numeracy tests Level 1                   Level 1           D - G grade       Foundation        Level 1 Level 2                   Level 2           A* - C grade     Intermediate       Level 2

Will I get a certificate? Yes, from OCR the awarding body.

So what's it going to cost me? An hour or so of your time, that's all

Where do I take it? On the computer bus at the college, Rugby.

When can I take it? Any Thursday afternoon to suit you.
