South to Charenton and Beyond |
Near the end of the world on the Guzzi, year,2000. |
Often you ride above the birds. |
And the bees. |
A meteor shower landed on the levee? |
*No, just to prevent this. These levees are just for show. Ask anyone from Lakeview, NOLA |
Diognoising the levee. Bore holes produced water, not a good sign. A sign that the levee is not well, or is a well. |
It follows a river, remember? |
*Wonder if they're still in New Orleans? |
The Charenton Canal connects Grand Lake on the Basin side to the Intracoastal Waterway, a pretty important task. |
Charenton Beech accessible from Baldwin and La.87 from Charenton Beach Road. |
He was there and... |
....now he's gone. Thought they floated? |
Charenton Beach Landing. |
Going South, more landings. Landings are becoming more numerous.. |
Popular Hunting area. Take a card please. |

*What do I see? I see the contained Basin higher than the Non-contained Basin. That's the problem and it's getting worse. All that build up did go to the Gulf where we need it,.not coming over the levee as it is now. The soil is brought downstream and at flood it is deposited on the sides of the channels making the surrounding land in the Basin higher and causing the channels to decrease in their ability to carry water. We are making our own floods. Gee, who thought of that? |
