Home Late

short story by Leslie the Webmaster Twin

Well, you're home late.

Is there a problem?

No problem. You're just
home late, is all.
Was the movie good?

It was fantastic! It won four

Oscars, you know

I know. You told me.
"Best Foreign Film, Best

Cinimetography, Best Art

Director, and Best Original

Score."
That doesn't always mean

it's a good movie.

Well, it was.

Did Duke like it?

I'm not sure. I think so. It's his style. Why?

Just asking.

Oh.

We're leaving for our

vacation tomorrow.

I know. Are you excited?'

Yep.

Me too. I can hardly sleep.

Me neither.

We're gonna have quite a bit of catching up to do on the website when we get back.

Liz, it's called a "Vacation".

Oh, I know. I know. "Get away from it all" and all that.

Speaking of the website,

there's something I wanted

to ask you.

What?

In Starting Over, how is it that

Allana and Canard are still in

high school and living at home

when they're in their early

twenties?

On Puckworld, life-spans are longer by a good 60%, so they start school at a later age. And you have to be 25 to be a legal adult. Basically, you get more time as a child to goof off.

Oh, that's how it works. I was wondering.

Why didn't you ask me sooner?

Well, it's your story.

Yeah, but it's our website. You've a right to know what's going on.

Okay.

Can't sleep either, huh?

Nope, too excited. Imagine!

We're going to Walt Disney

World!

I know! I'm so excited!!

Not as excited as when Duke kissed you goodnight.

You saw that?

Goodnight, Lizzie...

You're asking for it, Lez.

Goodnight, Lizzie.

You won't tell anyone, will you?

No. Goodnight.

Promise?

Promise.

G'night, Leslie.

Goodnight.
