COM 516
Professional Communications – This course was a great introduction into the asynchronous online environment. A.P.A. style was instilled from the beginning, and that helped set the tone for the entire program. The writing assignments were intense, preparing students for more of the same to come in future classes.

EDTC 510
Foundations of Distance Education and Training – This class was fun and informative. Once again, the individual and team assignments were writing and research intensive. It was a perfect introduction into the realm of distance learning.

EDD 511
Adult Learning: Theories, Principles and Applications – This class was highly beneficial for people like myself, those having no previous education classes. It was a jammed-packed 6 weeks of research, and more research. At least it was interesting.

CUR 524
Instructional Design – This class was one of my favorites. The major project was a comprehensive instructional plan build. The course materials were great. Seeing the finished product was rewarding.
10/20/2004
EDTC 526
Assessment and Evaluation in E-Education – Not one of my favorite classes. The materials were uninspiring. The Learning Team assignment involved the creation of an alternative assessment vehicle and scoring rubric. Our Learning Team came up with a fun and interesting alternative assessment project.

QNT 540
Research and Ethics in E-Education – Statistics, statistics, statistics! Wasn’t my favorite subject in my undergraduate days, and it still doesn’t rank anywhere near the top of the list.
02/16/2005
EDTC 550
Information Technology – This class provided an overview of IT and how online education fits in. It wasn’t the most exciting class, but the information was beneficial.
03/30/2005
EDTC 555
Internet and Distance Education Delivery – This class was interesting with hands-on experience in developing and hosting asynchronous and synchronous online courses. The course materials weren’t very helpful so we basically had to figure out how and where to host our classes online. It was frustrating, but a good learning experience.
05/11/2005
EDTC 560
Applications of Multimedia and Web Page Design – This class is a much welcomed break from the intense writing requirements of previous classes. Creativity is the name of the game in this class. Learning HTML coding, and figuring out how to build Web sites is frustrating, but it’s so rewarding to be able to display a Web site you created yourself.
