All entries must be mailed. No Phone entries. Full Payment must be mailed with entry. No shows will not be refunded any fees. Complete team rosters must accompany all entries Membership payment must be mailed to USTA. Include membership numbers on entry forms. Organization or Team athlete membership is good for entering foundation events (Basic, Military, Presentation). No individual membership required for these events.Member for a Day is a valid membership for local, state, and regional contests. Membership will be checked via internet on entry deadline date - if you are not listed, you must pay member for a day fee. All Pairs entries must be on same form. Payment information. For all Maryland Council contests and State - checks payable to MD Baton Council. For other contests - make checks payable to the sponsoring organization. Returned checks will be assessed a $25 fee and must be paid in full prior to the child or team being allowed to participate in any event. Twirl Teams and Dance Twirl Teams who choose to compete in both categories must compete with different routines and must utilize completely different song/music selections. Song selections must be listed on entry form. Violation will result in disqualification by the contest director. Age requirement for freestyle critiques will match the USTA Pre-Trials and Trials guidelines. One compulsory or movement technique evaluation is given at no fee for those who enter freestyle critique. CAS evaluations. USTA limits athletes to two levels of compulsories and/or Movement Technique at any meet. CAS evaluations must be recorded in Achievement book and signed by a certified USTA judge. Athlete must have proof of passing all prior levels. Without proper documentation, evaluations must be re-done. Awards: Team 1st and 2nd place. Individual 1st - 3rd place. Group Ages: Average age. Primary 9 and under, Juv 10-12, Jr 13-15, Sr 16 and over. Tiny Tots actual twirling age of all team members 7 and under. Age of twirlers count, not aux. members. Athlete's twirling age is the age they will be on their birthday in this calendar year: Jan 1-Dec. 31. Group and Individual Divisions: Novice - never won a competitive first place. Beginner - less than 5 competitive 1st places at any level. Intermediate - less than 10 competitive 1st places at any level. Advanced has won 10 or more competitive 1st places at any level. Other organization wins do count. Set system - Must twirl on number. Miss turn, no twirl Conduct. Anyone conducting themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner or damaging the school will be dismissed from the school without refund at the discretion of the contest director. Footwear. No hard-soled shoes or boots on gym floor. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO LIGHTING DURING ANY PORTION OF THE CONTEST!!!! Door opening time. Our volunteers work hard to run competitions. Please allow them the time to set up in the morning by respecting the "door opening time" stated on the entry forms. No Food or drink in gym. |
