My Trip to the Swiss Alps
Last week I went with my class to the Swiss Alps. It was  amazing. If you have never been there you can only imagine what it looks like.  There were two places that we could stay in the youth hostel or the hotel. My  friend and I got to stay in the hotel. We were so happy because the youth hostel  wasn't nice at all but the hotel was amazing. Each of the rooms had a balcony  with an incredible view. I was in a room with my friend Joanna but my other  friends were in a room with eight people so they got to have a suite. It had an  even bigger balcony, a kitchen, and an up stairs. On the first day after we had  set our stuff down we had to go get into counselor groups. The counselors had  picked animal or plant names for themselves. For example our counselors name was  Blue Bear. After that we had to go on a ten hour hike up the mountain. Yes  that's right ten hours! It wasn't that bad because we got to stop a lot for  water breaks and to eat the lunch we packed. At one point in the hike we got to  this view point. You could see the entire valley with all the little villages  and the mountains with snowy peaks on the other side.
Whenever we heard a bell we knew there were cows near by.  At one point we were passing by a cow field that had a road going through it.  We needed to take that road. So we started crossing and this bull decided that  he wanted to stand in the road so other people went on the grass and walked past  but this one guy went up to the bull and once he got close the bull was  terrified and ran off the road towards the people that were crossing on the  grass. Later on another bull went in the road. My friend Alicia dared me to touch it, so I did and it started following us not like charging but following. It was  kind of cool. But the bull eventually went on the grass.

We had to fill up our  water bottles in cow water troughs. But luckily we got it from the faucet so it  was just like well water. Another time during the hike we got to put down our  backpacks and take bearings with a compass to this boulder field. Before we got  there they told us how the boulder field was made. There used to be a lake at  that spot but there was an earth quake and part of the mountain fell down and  filled up the lake so now there are giant boulders instead. There was this one  that was absolutely gigantic and we got to climb to the top of it. When the hike  was over we were at a cabin where we could choose to sleep in the cabin, in a  tent, or under the stars. I chose to sleep under the stars. Alicia slept in the  tent. During the night it was so cold but it was worth it. The stars were  amazing. The Milky Way was so clear. There were millions more stars than you  could ever see in a city. In the morning we had to hike down. Luckily since we went the long way last time we got to go the short way this time and it took less than ten hours..
There was this pass we had to go on that was really narrow and it was made out of those little easily sliding rocks on the side of a cliff.
