Re: Reply from Dr Gizzi
Dear Mr. Gebhard:
I am responding to the reply received by American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) from Dr Martin Gizzi dated June 12. The letter suggests that the matter of my termination over three years back is now referred to Seton Hall University after receiving the AAPI letter supporting my plight.
As you recall, I had a signed residency contract with JFK Medical Center and none of my academic and clinical activities took place at the Seton Hall University. Probation as well as termination letters were on the Neuroscience letterhead. The matter was not referred to the University before my termination as well as over the past three years. Additionally, events following my wrongful termination may not have involved the said University. It is therefore prudent to communicate and resolve the conflict directly between the two parties. AAPI is a very respectable organization among the Indian American medical community and could be requested to assist and facilitate further communication to reach a resolution.
Such a resolution, reached without further delay, could salvage my Neurology career as well as end extreme ongoing suffering of my family. As I consider this the best opportunity for such communication, an absence of a reply to this letter would rule out any future negotiations. AAPI has supported my plight for legal recourse and a widely circulated Indian American Weekly newspaper has printed an article covering my ongoing battle about ten days back.
I am hoping that this letter would generate a reply. Attached please find the newspaper article. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Chetan Thakar, MD
