Secrets
by Andrea Moore
As I lay there slowly drifting off to sleep
I here you talk to me you were telling me something thinking I was asleep
I act as if I am asleep to here what you have to say
You whisper softly as if you want no one else to here though there is no one around
You tell me I am your world I make everything dull and gray seem to shine
You brush the hair from my face softly and say that you will love me forever
Till the day you die and past days after that
That without me your heart would still be ice
I open my eyes but to shut them quick as you start to say more
You say that with every tear I cry it feels as if a gash a been engraved in your skin
That every time I smile it makes you want to cry with unparalleled joy
I slowly open my eyes and grab your hand
You kiss me softly.
I hold back the tears of happiness
To know that you are loved to that extent by one individual
Is the best secret I can think of
