Wisdom in Unlikely Places

In this section of the site, we will be placing quotes of great wisdom from the most unlikely places imaginable.

This little nugget of joy comes from the song No Regrets by Aesop Rock.  The song is the story of a girl named Lucy who was an artist.  She doesn't play with other kids and everyone thinks she's weird because all she does is draw.

Look, I ain't ever had a dream in my life, because a dream is what you want to do but still haven't pursued.  I knew what I wanted and did it until it was done, so I lived the dream I wanted to be since day one.

There's nothing terribly wrong with feeling lost, so long as that feeling precedes some plan on your part to actually do something about it. Too often a person grows complacent with their disillusionament, perpetually wearing their "discomfort" like a favorite shirt. I can't say I'm very pleased with where my life is right now... But I can't help but look forward to where it's going.
