Three weeks in Costa Rica July - Aug 2004 |
On this page (and the next one), you'll find some pictures of the Costa Rica trip I made together with Marieke. In three weeks, we saw all (or almost all) of the beauty of this country. We saw rainforest (and lots of it), volcanoes, beaches, and many animals. It was my first time in Central America and I had a great time. The food left a bit to be desired and I also got somewhat scared by all the bugs, snakes etc. But overall, I look back on a wonderful trip. |
The beach in Domincal, where I had my first surfing lesson. Something is burning over there in the distance, maybe they need a dutch fire fighter to help out? |
As you can see, surfing is the way to go in this place! |
Street life in Puerto Jimenez. Where is everybody?? A bit too early for the Costa Ricans I guess. |
A poinsenous frog. Don't lick it! |
No matter what the outside temperature was (pretty cold in this place), I would install the mosquito net. No crazy critters were getting into my bed! |
We would usually travel by bus, but on this leg of the journey, we took 4x4 trucks. I guess you can see why (no bus was gettting through this water). |
Another means of transportation: the boat. This one was a bit too crowded, but we made it across safely. |
Me Jane, you Tarzan. Racing through the tree tops on the Canopy tour. |
