I think you should continue and get your
degree. At that point, then consider whether you
would like to complete the pre-requisites and apply.
With your degree, you have something that most med
applicants don't have: a solid backup degree, and great potential for finding a job.
This frees you from some of the pressure of getting in
right away: many people who are rejected for a year
find themselves wondering what to do for that year before they re-apply again, reminiscing at the pile of money they spent to get that far.
Medicine is something pretty crazy. I've only just
started to dig, but it seems like a pretty amazing
area to work in. Maybe you can take a second look
after your degree, and see whether it's something
you'd like to approach in the future. There's always
students in each medical class that graduated and
worked for a while before deciding to apply.
