Australian Broadcasting Corporation - Licensing Co-ordinator & Store Manager

July 1993 - May 1994

Responsibilities

 

Responsible the ABC’s Intellectual Property Rights. This included TV programs, Play School, Bananas in Pyjamas and Roy & HG. I was responsible for all ABC related merchandise including product sourcing to sales and marketing strategies through all ABC Stores and other retailers including retail chains such as Target, Myer/Grace Bros. and David Jones.

 

Day to day contact with relevant Television and Radio departments to ensure every product licensed reflected the program and the market to which it was targeted.

 

Responsible for the purchase of miscellaneous merchandise and apparel, Promotions for the product areas and co-ordination between relevant ABC departments to ensure the improved sales in all product areas.

 

As Store Manager I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the ABC Shop including staff rosters, inventory and budgeting projections. Customer sales, client and customer relations, co-ordinator of instore and local promotions including local print media competitions and editorial.

 

Queensland Museum - Head of Bookshop/Sales Assistant

January 1991 - June 1993

Responsibilities

 

Manage the daily operation of a Southbank retail store including customer service, sales, and inventory control. Maintained financial records and budget. Implemented and reviewed store policies and procedures while providing supervision of 5 staff, set sales goals, and oversee training programs.

 

 

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relied on my experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

 

I was also responsible for the purchasing of all stock for the other Museum retail outlets at that time in consultation with curatorial staff.
