Ring of Honor . . .
Current Winner for the Month of April:

Inundation (Wicked Torrent (Ire) - Melodious Charm, by Riverman)
Meadowridge's Inundation rallied wide at the top of the stretch under jockey Victor del Castillo and went on to post a two length victory over Sunday Spirit in Saturday's $150,000, grade III Bay Shore Stakes at Aqueduct.

The three-year-old son of Wicked Torrent (Ire), making his second start of the year after winning an allowance race on February 12, ran the 7 furlongs in 1:22.21.

The winner, trained by George Callaghan, paid $17.20, $9.00 and $5.80.  Sunday Spirit, who took the lead at the top of the stretch but could not hold on, paid $6.80 and $4.40.  Creek Dancer finished two lengths back in third and paid $4.40.  Elegant In Seattle, the 3-2 favorite, tired after setting the pace and finished fourth.

With the winner's purse of $90,000, Inundation
increased his lifetime earnings to $211,143.

Elegant In Seattle battled for the early lead through fractions of :22.24 for the quarter, :45.25 for the half mile and 1:12.54 for three quarters..  Inundation who settled back in fifth, commenced his rally five-wide on the turn while Sunday Spirit took control.  Sunday Spirit drew out to a 1 1/2 length advantage but could not withstand the rally by Inundation.

"I could have cut the corner at top of the stretch, but I knew this colt had so much," said del Castillo, who registered his second stakes win of the meet.  "I was told to lay off the pace and just let the race set up.  I wasn't going to set myself down there on the inside and ask for trouble.  There was no need when you have a ton of horse under you."

"I loved the post position we had," said Callaghan.  "I told Victor we were in great position to just sit off of them.  I know it was a long time in between races, but this was a great race we decided to go after.  I've told people for some time that this colt just makes my job easy."

Foaled at Meadowridge, Inundation is out of Melodious Charm, a grade two stakes winner in England and Ireland.  Inundation's full sister, the 2-year-old Allure, is in training on the farm and it is unknown when the filly will make her first start.
