The Guys of Leap Aren't Through With Quite Yet
I thought I'd let you in on a little secret before you got too worried. The remaining members of Leap (Phil, Leonard and James), plan to continue making music. However, the guys will be playing under a new name and with a new guitarist. Anyone who is interested in filling in the opening (lead/rythm guitar and  can sing back up vocals) can contact the band through the LEAP link on my links page or by emailing the guys at exleapidiots@hotmail.com
Additionally, Webber, the former guitarist of Leap is looking to start another band as well. He hopes to stray from the sugary  vibe of Leap and roughen things up a bit. Anyone who is interested can contact Webber  through this email address:

Darkest Hour wtih Curl Up and Die
                         June 11, 2003
Because of my abhorrent tardiness, I once again missed the first band, but I made it right in time to catch Abandon All Hope, a local hardcore band. This band had extreme screaming capabilities, it was amazing any of the guys could talk after the show. The lead singer was interesting and lively and kept the set entertaining. With a few songs that were dead on, and a few that weren't hitting the spot so well, I'd have to say that overall, Abandon All Hope played a supreme set. My biggest complaint was that this band had very little energy making the preformance less than it could have been.
Next, Curl up and Die took the stage, this band had slightly more energy and the crowd began moving

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, but holding back a bit for the next band... The show was good and the crowd was rowdy.
And then Darkest Hour took the stage. From the moment these guys came out the crowd went berserk. Some people got knocked to the floor, a couple of fights broke out but like they say; "It's not a good show unless someone gets hurt" (Or maybe it's just my friends that say that...) In any case it was an extremely good show...

The "Total Devistation" Video Release
                     June 19, 2003

This show was superb; with a man in drag to do the announcing, video clips from John Lore's documentary, "Total Devistation", and more punk rock than you could put your grubby mits around, there was only one thing missing; more of a crowd. The folks who didn't show up were probably spending their money on worthless junk, while they could have been spending it at this show, where the proceeds benifit a new all ages show space. (Which is exactly what Albuquerque could use right about now.)

The "Total Devistation" VHS, is a documentary by John Lore, the guitarist from The United, a local punk rock band. The documentary focuses on the Albuquerque punk rock scene, with interviews by many local punk band members and others who involve themselves in the scene... it's definitely worth checking out... for more details on how to obtain a copy visit The United's website, and maybe while you're there you can check out the band....
