We enjoyed our earlier trip around South Island in 2001 so much that our son, Alan, took us on a 12 day tour again in November 2002 as his Golden Wedding Anniversary gift to us.

Background is the 1694 metres high (5,100 ft) Mitre Peak, a well-known land mark in Fiordland.
