Film Essay Assignment and Selection
1. Choose a film below and watch it.
2. Type a 750+ word essay critiquing the film using one of the persuasion theories from the book. You may only use a theory one time; then for your other two essays you must select a different theory to use for your critique. Please do not summarize the film (I can read a movie review); I want a persuasive critique. Your essay grade will be 50% grammar and 50% content (strength of your argument). Short essays will lose substantial points. All film essays must be turned in by last class day. One film essay must be turned in no later than Tuesday, March 4. Late essays will lose 20 points. No essays will be accepted after the last class day of the semester

Paper Report criteria:no makeup for presentation; short presentations receive no better than a 75--the time of the speech is strictly enforced.
Time of presentation is a max of 13 minutes. A minimum time of 10 minutes is expected for a C or better. All speeches will be stopped at 13 min.**You need to do a power point presentation for this report**
Specific Speech Elements include:
Introduction--preview, attention-getter, 10 points
Conclusion--closure to speech--10 points
Content--summarize your theory and method used--40 points
Physical Delivery--eyes, posture, gestures--20 points
Vocal Delivery--avoid non-fluencies, good strong clear voice<20 points>
Students not going on their day will lose 20 points off their speech grade; speech may be made up only for medical excuse
