You know it's Monday when….

You get in to work early and you're already late. So I walk in the front door and he's already waiting for me. 'He' is the instructor for a 2-day software class I organized. Ok, so I don't even get to drop my stuff off at my desk, but I lead him to the training room and start to get stuff setup. This should go well since we've had this class (and instructor) here before.

'Should' being the operative word. The class is limited to 8 students, on 8 computers, and the software is loaded on a remote drive for convenience. So all I have to do is boot up all 8 computers, get his laptop setup (and the Proxima), log in to everything and start the application. Heck, it's only 8 computers.

And that's the key isn't it? 8 computers. As in, having all 8 computers in there would've helped. For some reason, one is missing. Ugh. But I knew this was missing due to repairs, but that should have been finished at least 2 weeks ago. So I start the boot on the rest and go track down the missing one. I find out that this CPU will not be ready until lunch. Ugh.

Which means I have to disconnect my CPU and lug it down to the training room and set it up for them. The thing weighs approximately 400lbs of course. Just what my feet need. Now I'm back in the room and find out the instructor didn't bring his laptop, but instead a desktop. Why I don't know, but should be no problem.

There's that 'should' bitch again. Turns out his presentation files are all zipped up and his computer has no unzip program. Ugh. And of course our network does not talk with his computer and he can't connect to the internet. Ugh. So now I have to copy the program over on multiple floppies. Slow, but workable.

Meanwhile we find out the license files aren't working for the software their supposed to be learning. After some time of troubleshooting, we figure out the problem and correct it. That is, we have to manually change all 8 computers. Except now some computers are simply bogging down and flaking out. But it's ONLY 8 computers! Good thing I gave up caring long before this.

Mind you during all of this I'm not able to eat. This is not only annoying, but counterproductive. Because by 9:30 like clockwork it's time to hit the porcelain throne, but due to all this mess I'm already one up on the 'game'.

So now I'm losing weight faster than normal and not refilling, so I'm not in a good mood. Worse, I'm constantly speed walking back and forth through the building, which is killing my feet. After all this, one person fails to show for the class and one guy calls to say, "oops, I forgot about class today, I'll be there soon." It's a 40mintue drive from plant to plant. Ugh.

Which is now the drive I have to take because I have to go to Fuquay since I now don't have a computer in Cary. I get there slightly before lunch and then out to meet a friend for lunch. Or rather I sat and listened to her phone conversation. Having an equally bad day, she was going out of her way to accommodate some irritating and unthankful parents.

I spend a few hours breaking things there and then back to Cary to wrap up the day and workout. At some point during the day I managed to get depressed and decided against going home and doing more on the job front (or GMAT crap). So instead I decided to get out to volleyball (real ball, not JC style, lol).

This was good and bad. I haven't played for real in 6months, so it was good to be there. Bad because I really couldn't let myself play all out, and couldn't jump at all (too much foot pain/injury potential). Nonetheless, I did have fun. I remembered a few people and met some new folks as well.

So in the end, I was once again in pain and not sure I accomplished much during the day. I finally just gave up and went to bed early.

Next up: damn, is every day Monday?
