Each rifleman/sniper should be specifically trained to operate individually & in 2 & 3 man sniper team in addition to their duties in their squads & platoons. Having rifleman snipers, 2 man, & 3 man sniper teams who have trained together allows the Platoons & Company to have a "sniper asset" to be used in support of Platoon & Company operations without requiring the rifleman snipers to leave their squads or platoons on a full time basis as this position is a secondary role.
The Company Commander would then have a trained sniper team to employed in each platoon & 3 team sniper squad to be employed in support of company level operations.

This concept benefits the rifleman/sniper, designated markman whom operates as a member of his normal squad by providing advanced skills & training to operate individually & in the 2 - 3 man sniper team concept within a SBCT or Mechanized Infantry Platoon & Company. The Company Commander with the temporary additional asset of a sniper team in each platoon or a sniper squad to operate at the company level.
