1. Lunch with God

There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with cupcakes, several cans of root beer and started on his journey.
When he had gone about three blocks, he saw an elderly woman. She was sitting on a park ench watching the pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his rootbeer when he noticed the lady looked hungry so he offered her a cupcake. She gratefully accepted and smiled at him.
Her smile was so wonderful that he wanted to see it again, so he offered a root beer as well. Once again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling without saying a word. As it began to grow dark, the boy realized how tired he was and wanted to go home. He got up to leave but before he had gone no more than a few steps, he turned around and ran back to the old woman, giving her a big hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.
When the boy arrived home his Mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face.
She asked, "What has made you so happy today?".
He replied,"I had lunch with God." Before his mother could respond he added, You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile in the whole world!" Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, she returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her
face. He asked, "Mother, what has made you so happy today? "
She replied, "I ate cupcakes in the park with God." And before her son could reply, she added, "You know, he is much younger than I expected." Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring; all of which have the potential to turn life around.

People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime....
Take no one for granted and embrace all equally with joy!

2. Is Heaven in the Yellow Pages

Mommy went to Heaven, but I need her here today,
My tummy hurts and I fell down, I need her right away.
Operator can you tell me how to find her in this book?
Is heaven in the yellow part, I don't know where to look.
I think my daddy needs her too, at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes, but I really don't know why.
Maybe if I call her, she will hurry home to me.
Is Heaven very far away, is it across the sea?
She's been gone a long, long time she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her, but I simply don't know how.
Help me find the number please, is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big words, I am only seven.
I'm sorry operator, I didn't mean to make you cry,
Is your tummy hurting too, or is there something in your eye?
If I call my church maybe they will know.
Mommy said when we need help that's where we should go.
I found the number to my church tacked up on the wall.
Thank you operator, I'll give them a call.

3. Everything Happens For A Reason

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they
were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson
or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know
who these people may be but when you lock eyes with them, you know that
every moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. And
sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful
and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength,
will power or heart.
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of
good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity all occurs to test the limits of your soul. Without these small
tests, life would be like a smoothy paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet
affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can
create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact,
they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them
because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being
cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them
back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are
teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make
every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that
you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk
to people you have never talked to before, and
actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your
sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell
yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you
don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your
own life and then go out and live it.

4. Two Angels

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a
wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay
in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a space in the
cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older
angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked
why, the older angel replied . . . "Things aren't always as they seem".

The next night the pair come to rest at the house of a very poor, but
very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food
they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could
have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had
been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel, "how
could you let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you
helped him," she accused. "The second family had little, but
was willing to share everything, and you let their cow die."

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was
gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with
greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he
wouldn't find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of
death came for his wife. I gave her the cow instead. Things aren't always
what they seem."

Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the
way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every
outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time
later.

Think about this:

Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight, just remember the
homeless family who has no bed to lie in.

Should you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair, there are people
in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of
work for the last three months.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who
has never known what it's like to love and be
loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman
in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for $15 to
feed her family.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance,
think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer
patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what life is all
about, asking, "what is my purpose?", be thankful.
There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness,
remember, things could be worse. You could be them!!!!!

5. Friend

A friend is like a flower, a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl, both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost, whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass, you can never mow,
standing straight, tall, and proud, in a perfect little row.
A friend is like a heart that goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world if we didn't have a friend.

6. Be Special to others

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs gathered around pit. When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump
up out of the pit with all of their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up.
He fell down and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog
explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1.There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them. Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words....it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.

Some time it happens, that we say some thing and that will be interpreter some other way, as it passes on. so please think and decide what could be the actual words and in what context, that person might have said.

7. Life Just is

Life isn't about keeping score.

It's not about how many friends you have
Or how accepted you are.
Not about if you have plans this weekend or if you're alone.
It isn't about whom you're dating, whom you used to date,=20
and how many people You've dated,=20
or if you haven't been with anyone at all.

It isn't about who your family is or how much money they have
Or what kind of car you drive.
Or where you are sent to school.
It's not about how beautiful or ugly you are.
Or what clothes you wear, what shoes you have on,=20
or what kind of Music you listen to.

It's not about if your hair is blonde, red, black, or brown
Or if your skin is too light or too dark.
Not about what grades you get, how smart you are,
how smart everybody else thinks you are,=20
or how smart standardized tests say you are.

It's not about what clubs you're in or how good you are at "your" sport.
It's not about representing your whole being on a piece of paper and
Seeing who will "accept the written you."

LIFE JUST ISN'T.

But, life is about whom you love and whom you hurt.
It's about whom you make happy or unhappy purposefully.
It's about keeping or betraying trust.
Its about friendship, used as sanctity or a weapon.

It's about what you say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening..
About starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip.
It's about what judgments you pass and why.=20
And who your judgments are spread to.

It's about whom you've ignored with full control and intention.
It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge.
It's about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow, and spreading it.

But most of all, it's about using your life to touch or poison other
People's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone.
Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what life's all about.

LIFE JUST IS !

8. Mother

Dear Friends,

This thought mail is about "MOTHER". We might not have known
certain aspects of that role....

When you came into the world, she held you in her
arms. You thanked her by wailing like a banshee.

When you were 1 year old, she fed you and bathed you.
You thanked her by crying all night long.

When you were 2 years old, she taught you to walk.
You thanked her by running away when she called.

When you were 3 years old, she made all your
meals with love. You thanked her by tossing your
plate on the floor.

When you were 4 years old, she gave you some
crayons. You thanked her by coloring the dining room table.

When you were 5 years old, she dressed you
for the holidays. You thanked her by plopping into the
nearest pile of mud.

When you were 6 years old, she walked you to
school. You thanked her by screaming, "I'M NOT GOING!"

When you were 7 years old, she bought you a
baseball. You thanked her by throwing it through the next-door-
neighbor's window.

When you were 8 years old, she handed you an
ice cream. You thanked her by dripping it all over your lap.

When you were 9 years old, she paid for
piano lessons. You thanked her by never even bothering to
practice.

When you were 10 years old, she drove you
all day, from soccer to gymnastics to one birthday
party after another. You thanked her by jumping out of the car and
never looking back.

When you were 12 years old, she warned you
not to watch certain TV shows.
You thanked her by waiting until she left
the house.

Those teenage years
When you were 20, she asked whether you were
seeing anyone. You thanked her by saying,
"It's none of your business."

When you were 30, she called with some
advice on the baby. You thanked her
by telling her, "Things are different now."

When you were 40, she called to remind you
of an relative's birthday. You thanked her by saying you were
"really busy right now."

When you were 50, she fell ill and needed
you to take care of her. You thanked her by
reading about the burden parents become to their
children.

Let us take a moment of the time just to pay tribute/show
appreciation to the person called MOM though some may not say
it openly to their mother. There's no substitute for her. Cherished
every single moment.

Though at times she may not be the best of friends, may not
agree to our thoughts, she is still your mother!!! when the whole
world rejects you, she will be there for you...to listen to your woes,
your braggings, your frustations.

Ask yourself.....have you put aside enough time for her,
to listen to her "blues" of working in the kitchen, her tiredness???

Be tactful, loving and still show her due respect though you
may have a different view from hers. Once gone, only fond
memories of the past and also regrets will be left.....!!!

Its now our turn to play our role towards our mother !
