Anti Semitic Racial Profiling
This cartoon was published in the Brisbane Courier Mail on Thursday 2 May 2002.  The idea message may be vile, but have a closer look and you will see something even more insidious!
The Star of David and hook nose given to Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon is a blatant case of anti Semitic racial profiling! 
The Art of Caricature is the art of taking an existing feature of a person and exaggerating it.  The problem here is that Ariel Sharon does not have a hook nose!  This is the negative stereotype of Jews as used by the Nazi's in World War 2 and also by Arab countries today
You can see clearly from these pics of Sharon that he does not have a hooked nose.
The Nazi's used the hook nose in their anti Semitic propaganda to vilify Jews.  They sought to make Jews appear different so as to dehumanise them.  This was their way of preparing their society for the final extermination of World Jewry.  I never thought I would see this type of racial profiling appearing in Australia in the 21st Century!
Right: This is how Oleg, a Jewish cartoonist depicts Sharon.  Notice that there is no hook nose and that it is far easier to recognise him here.  Oleg also didnt feel the need to brand Sharon with a Star of David like in the Nazi Cartoons!!!
