Foundation for Preservation of Civil War History

Ben Black (General Lee) created the "Foundation for Preservation of Civil War History" in 1998 to bring a more accurate portrayal of the Civil War to the general public and to support those organizations that are fighting to preserve our history.

Through his living history portrayals, it has become obvious that many do not understand the complexities surrounding the causes of the Civil War and to the war itself. The U.S. Civil War, through blood, sweat and tears, forged a national bond that will never be broken as long as the sacrifices made during the Civil War (and since) are never forgotten. Further understanding those long standing debates will help citizens to make better decisions today.

The FPCWH is under the umbrella of the National Heritage Foundation who regulates the donations to ensure that the funds are being used for the preservation of Civil War heritage.
