Autore di articoli, saggi e libri sui rapporti tra economia e sviluppo insostenibile, commercio equo-solidale.

Edward A. Mallia Dr. Edward A. Mallia, professore nel Dipartimento di Fisica all’Università di Malta ed un prominente ambientalista. É attivamente involuto in ONG ambientalisti Maltesi da 15 anni. Presidente del Moviment ghall-Ambjent - Friends of the Earth (Malta). Co-direttore del rapporto Towards a Sustainable Europe: Sustainable Malta pubblicato da questa ONG ambientalista nel Dicembre 1997. Ha contribuito anche al rapporto, State of the Environment (in Malta) commissionato dal Dipartimento della Protezione Ambientale del Governo pubblicato nel 1997.

Dr. E. A. Mallia is lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Malta and a prominent environmentalist. He has been actively involved in Maltese ENGOs for the last 15 years and is president of Moviment ghall-Ambjent - Friends of the Earth (Malta). He co-edited the report Towards a Sustainable Europe: Sustainable Malta published by this ENGO in December, 1997. He also contributed to the report on the State of the Environment (in Malta) commissioned by the Government's Environment Protection Department and published in 1999.

Pietro Laureano Architetto, Urbanista. Collabora con l’UNESCO e diverse agenzie internazionali sul tema delle conoscenza tradizionali contro la desertificazione. Membro del Comitato per la scienza e la tecnologia dell'’UNCCD e del Comitato nazionale italiano contro la desertificazione. Direttore del Centro studi IPOGEA di Matera sulle conoscenze tradizionali contro la desertificazione. Autore di articoli, libri, saggi, mostre sulla desertificazione e il sistema delle oasis, e sul progetto dei Sassi di Matera (UNESCO).

Architect, Town Planner. Collaborates with UNESCO and various international agencies on the subject of traditional knowledge against desertification. Member of the Committee for science and technology in UNCCD and of the Italian national committee against desertification. Director of the Study Centre IPOGEA of Matera on traditional knowledge against desertification. Author of articles, books, essays and exhibitions on desertification and the oasis system, and on the project of Sassi di Matera (UNESCO).

Nabil A. Elshami Mr. El Shami has about 10 years experience in the promotion and development of small & micro enterprises in Egypt and Arab Countries. He is a founding member and Executive Director of Alexandria Business Association ABA (Small & Micro Enterprise Project SMEP). He has undertaken assignments for the USAID, UNDP, and the World Bank to participate as a resource person in seminars and training workshops on micro credit and finance. He assisted in the establishment of new Micro Enterprise Foundations in Egypt by providing technical assistance and training. He also provided services in all areas of Micro Credit and Finance to institutions and NGOs in Egypt and Arab countries. In May 1998, he was elected to become a member of CGAP’s Policy Advisory Group (PAG). The Consultative Group to Assist the Poorest (CGAP) is a World Bank’s Micro-Finance Program.
Salvador Heliodoro Salvador Heliodoro (CERAI) es un joven ingeniero que ha trabajado en investigación de Agricutura del Mediterraneo para el CEAM, Centro de Estudios de Agricultura del Mediterraneo, sobre el efecto del ozono ambiental en la vegetación mediterranea.

Anna ZammitVince Caruana Vince is President of the Maltese fair-trade cooperative, Koperattiva Kummerc Gust, founded in 1996. He is also a member of the Third World Group and a member of the coordinating team of the mediterranean cultural initiative, Inizjamed.

Vince is Chairperson of the organizing team in Malta of the International Workshop on "Building Partnership for a Sustainable Future in the Mediterranean".

Eric E. van Monckhoven Eric is Program Officer/Project Department at C.R.I.C. (Centro regionale d’intervento per la cooperazione) in Reggio Calabria, Italy. He main areas of interest are crosscultural understanding, agroecology, natural and sustainable eco-living, appropriate technology and social economy. His key qualifications include community-based sustainable development, environment, and international cooperation. His has been doing voluntary work with Global Eco-village Network (Dk), networking in Europe and West Africa, since 1996; and with the National Committee to Combat Desertification (Italy) as representative of the NGO community since 1998. He is a leading figure in the organization of the International Workshop on "Building Partnership for a Sustainable Future in the Mediterranean".
